Job summary

SsangYong Engineering & Construction Co. Ltd is seeking an experienced Architectural Lead to direct all architectural aspects of a large hospital project in Singapore.

Qualifications

• Degree in Architecture or related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant architectural and construction experience.

• Familiarity with Singapore building regulations and quality standards.
• Proficient in AutoCAD; Revit/BIM experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all architectural works and activities for a large hospital project.

• Attend coordination meetings; report progress, risks and issues.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all architectural works and activities for a large-scale hospital construction project.
• Oversee the architectural team and provide technical and managerial direction throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate closely with the Project Director, Project Manager, architects, consultants, engineers, subcontractors and other project stakeholders.
• Review and coordinate architectural drawings, specifications, shop drawings, material submissions and technical proposals.
• Ensure architectural design and construction information is properly coordinated with structural, M&E and other building services.
• Monitor the progress, quality and performance of architectural works and ensure compliance with approved drawings and project specifications.
• Lead the resolution of architectural design, technical and site coordination issues.
• Review and approve technical submissions, RFIs, shop drawings, material samples and mock-ups within the assigned authority.
• Manage and coordinate architectural subcontractors and specialist contractors.
• Monitor architectural work programmes and ensure key project milestones are achieved.
• Conduct regular site inspections and oversee the rectification of architectural defects.
• Coordinate with consultants and relevant authorities on architectural submissions, inspections and approvals.
• Ensure compliance with Singapore building regulations, relevant codes, quality standards and project requirements.
• Attend project and technical coordination meetings and provide updates on architectural progress, risks and outstanding matters.
• Lead coordination of architectural interfaces with structural and M&E disciplines.
• Monitor architectural finishing works and ensure the required quality and workmanship standards are achieved.
• Support the Project Director and Project Manager in project planning, technical matters and overall project delivery.
• Mentor and guide Architectural Managers, Coordinators, Designers and other members of the architectural team.
• Maintain proper documentation and records relating to architectural works, submissions, approvals, inspections and project correspondence.
• Perform other duties related to the project as assigned by the Project Director.

Job Requirements

• Degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Building Studies or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in architectural works and construction, with experience in managing large-scale building projects.
• Proven experience in architectural management with a main contractor or Design & Build contractor.
• Experience in hospital, healthcare, institutional or other complex building projects will be an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of architectural construction, building finishes, specifications and construction methodologies.
• Strong understanding of architectural, structural and M&E coordination.
• Familiarity with Singapore building regulations, codes, quality requirements and construction practices.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and preferably Revit/BIM software.
• Strong leadership, project management and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Able to lead a multidisciplinary team and coordinate effectively with consultants, subcontractors and project stakeholders.
• Able to manage multiple architectural work packages and deliver works according to project schedule and quality requirements.
