Job summary

SsangYong Engineering & Construction Co. Ltd. seeks an experienced Senior Site Manager to oversee the hospital project in Singapore. You will lead the site management team, ensure work is planned, coordinated, and executed to drawings, specs, quality, safety, and schedules.

You will manage multiple front-works, coordinate with PM, consultants, architects, and subcontractors, review programmes, monitor progress, and drive site safety and compliance with Singapore regulations.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Civil/Architectural Engineering, Building, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant construction/site management experience.
• Hospital or healthcare construction experience is required.
• Experience managing large-scale building projects and multidisciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of construction methods, planning, site management, quality control and safety.
• Experience coordinating multiple subcontractors and architectural, structural, M&E works.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, method statements and programs.
• Knowledge of Singapore construction practices and regulatory requirements.
• Strong leadership, communication, coordination, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in hospital projects involving M&E coordination and handover is an advantage.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and construction/project management software.
• Able to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet schedules.
• Willing to work on construction sites as required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage overall day-to-day site operations for the hospital project.
• Lead and coordinate Site Managers, Site Engineers, Site Supervisors, subcontractors, and site personnel.
• Plan, coordinate, and monitor multiple construction fronts to ensure timely delivery.
• Coordinate with Project Manager, Construction Manager, consultants, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Review construction programmes and monitor site activities against project schedules.
• Develop and implement recovery plans for delayed activities.
• Coordinate architectural, structural, M&E, and specialist works for multidisciplinary integration.
• Review drawings, specifications, method statements, work programmes, and submissions.
• Monitor subcontractor performance, manpower, materials, equipment, and site resources.
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and safety.
• Ensure compliance with drawings, specs, and Singapore regulations.
• Identify and resolve technical, coordination, sequencing, and site issues.
• Coordinate inspections, testing, commissioning, handover, and defect rectification.
• Monitor site productivity and implement efficiency improvements.
• Assist in project cost control, variation orders, procurement, and planning.
• Maintain site records, progress reports, and inspection documentation.
• Chair or participate in coordination meetings and report to senior management.
• Ensure effective workplace safety, environment, and housekeeping practices.
• Mentor site management personnel and ensure cross-team communication.
• Support Project Manager in achieving safety, quality, programme, and cost objectives.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Project Director or Project Manager.

The successful candidate will provide strong leadership to the site management team and ensure that construction activities are properly planned, coordinated, and executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and project schedules.

• Lead and coordinate Site Managers, Site Engineers, Site Supervisors, subcontractors, and site personnel.
• Plan, coordinate, and monitor multiple construction work fronts to ensure timely project delivery.
• Coordinate closely with the Project Manager, Construction Manager, consultants, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Review construction programmes and monitor site activities against approved project schedules.
• Develop and implement recovery plans for delayed or critical construction activities.
• Coordinate architectural, structural, M&E, and specialist systems works to ensure effective multidisciplinary integration.
• Review construction drawings, specifications, method statements, work programmes, and technical submissions.
• Monitor subcontractor performance, manpower deployment, materials, equipment, and site resources.
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor construction progress, quality, workmanship, and safety.
• Ensure construction works comply with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, project requirements, and applicable Singapore regulations.
• Identify and resolve technical, coordination, sequencing, and site-related issues in a timely manner.
• Coordinate inspections, testing, commissioning, handover, and defect rectification activities.
• Monitor site productivity and implement measures to improve construction efficiency.
• Assist in project cost control, variation works, subcontractor claims, procurement, and resource planning.
