Job summary

SsangYong Engineering & Construction Co. Ltd is seeking an experienced Architect to oversee large-scale hospital projects in Singapore. You will lead a multidisciplinary team, coordinate with consultants and subcontractors, and ensure compliance with drawings, specifications and timelines.

The role requires strong leadership, robust coordination skills, and proficiency in AutoCAD (Revit/BIM is a plus). You will drive planning, reviews and issue resolution across architectural disciplines.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Architecture or related discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in architectural works and construction.
• Experience in hospital/healthcare or large-scale building projects is advantageous.

Job Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate architectural works for a large-scale hospital construction project.
• Lead the architectural team in planning, coordinating and monitoring architectural activities throughout the project.
• Coordinate with architects, consultants, engineers, subcontractors and other project stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of architectural works.
• Review architectural drawings, specifications, shop drawings, material submissions, samples and technical proposals.
• Coordinate architectural works with structural, M&E and other building services to resolve design and construction interfaces.
• Monitor the progress and quality of architectural works and ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications and project requirements.
• Review and coordinate RFIs, technical submissions, inspections and approvals.
• Identify and resolve architectural technical issues, drawing discrepancies and site coordination matters.
• Manage and coordinate architectural subcontractors and specialist contractors.
• Monitor subcontractors' work progress and ensure architectural works meet project milestones.
• Conduct regular site inspections and oversee architectural finishing works and defect rectification.
• Coordinate with consultants and relevant authorities on architectural submissions, inspections and approvals.
• Ensure compliance with relevant Singapore building regulations, codes, quality standards and project specifications.
• Attend project and technical meetings and provide updates on architectural progress and outstanding matters.
• Coordinate architectural interfaces with structural, M&E and other disciplines.
• Assist the Project Director / Project Manager in project planning, coordination and overall project delivery.
• Guide and mentor Architectural Coordinators, Designers and other members of the architectural team.
• Maintain proper records of drawings, submissions, approvals, inspections and project documentation.
• Perform other duties related to architectural management as assigned.

Job Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Architecture, Architectural Technology, Building Studies or a related discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in architectural works and construction.
• Experience in architectural management with a main contractor or Design & Build contractor is preferred.
• Experience in hospital, healthcare, institutional or large-scale building projects will be an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of architectural construction, building finishes, drawings and specifications.
• Good understanding of architectural, structural and M&E coordination.
• Familiarity with Singapore construction practices, building regulations and relevant standards.
• Proficient in AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit/BIM software will be an advantage.
• Strong leadership, coordination and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to manage subcontractors and coordinate effectively with consultants, engineers and project team members.
• Able to work independently and meet project schedules and quality requirements.
