A Sales Supervisor in a saree specialist store is responsible for leading the sales team to achieve targets, providing excellent customer service tailored to traditional wear, and managing specific operational tasks like visual merchandising of sarees and inventory
In-depth knowledge of sarees, including different regional styles, fabrics (silk, cotton, etc.), and their cultural significance, is a significant advantage.
Core Responsibilities
- Sales and Target Achievement: Monitor team performance and assist staff in achieving individual and team sales targets. This often involves personal selling and leveraging product expertise to close deals.
- Customer Service: Ensure outstanding customer service by greeting, acknowledging, and assisting every customer, handling complex inquiries, and managing refunds courteously and professionally. In a saree specialist context, this includes providing expert advice on the product, fabric, and styling.
- Team Leadership & Management: Supervise, mentor, and motivate a team of retail assistants. Duties include creating staff schedules, conducting on-the-job training, evaluating performance, and fostering a positive team environment.
- Store Operations: Oversee daily store operations, including housekeeping, ensuring merchandise displays are clean and attractive, and assisting with floor moves.
- Inventory and Merchandising: Coordinate with inventory teams to ensure product availability. This includes managing stock, processing deliveries, monitoring stock levels, and ensuring the visual merchandising presentation of sarees is consistent with brand image.
- Problem Solving & Communication: Handle escalated customer complaints and resolve problems efficiently. The role requires strong communication skills to convey expectations to staff and liaise with management.
