Job summary

LEE SENG HARDWARE AND MACHINERY PTE LTD in Singapore is seeking a Sales Engineer to join the Tagore North-East Region in a full-time capacity. You will combine technical expertise with consultative selling to identify needs, propose tailored hydraulic solutions, and close deals, driving revenue and customer satisfaction.

You will deliver technical presentations, engage clients, and collaborate with internal teams to design customised solutions.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Engineering.
• Proven experience in a sales or sales engineering role in hardware/machinery.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic products and industrial applications.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills; able to explain technical concepts clearly.
• Proven ability to translate customer needs into tailored product solutions.

• Monitor market trends and competitor activity to inform sales strategies.
• Track sales metrics and maintain accurate customer records and reports.
• Attend industry events to generate leads and enhance market presence.

About the role

We are seeking a talented Sales Engineer to join LEE SENG HARDWARE AND MACHINERY PTE LTD in the Tagore North-East Region. This is a full-time position that combines technical expertise with consultative sales skills to drive business growth and customer satisfaction. As a Sales Engineer, you will be at the forefront of our sales efforts, leveraging your technical knowledge to identify customer needs, propose tailored solutions, and close deals. This role is strategically important to our organisation, as it directly impacts revenue generation and customer relationship development within our key market region.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and engage potential customers conducting thorough needs assessments to understand their technical requirements and business objectives

• Develop and deliver technical presentations and product demonstrations that effectively communicate the value and capabilities of our hardware and machinery solutions

• Provide expert technical advice and guidance to customers, translating complex product features into practical business benefits

• Collaborate with internal teams to design customised solutions that meet specific customer specifications and project requirements

• Prepare detailed proposals, quotations and technical documentation that address customer needs and support the sales process

• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers, ensuring satisfaction and identifying opportunities for upselling and cross-selling

• Conduct site visits and assessments to evaluate customer operations and recommend appropriate hardware and machinery solutions

• Monitor competitor activity and market trends within the region, providing insights to inform sales and product strategies

• Track sales metrics, maintain accurate customer records and reports, and contribute to the achievement of sales targets and KPIs

• Attend industry events, trade shows and networking sessions to generate leads and enhance the company's market presence

What we're looking for

• Diploma or degree qualification in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline

• Proven experience in a sales or sales engineering role, ideally within the hardware, machinery, manufacturing or industrial equipment sector

• Strong technical knowledge and understanding of hydraulic products, machinery systems and industrial applications

• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences

• Demonstrated ability to identify customer needs and translate them into tailored product solutions

• Self-motivated and results-driven, with a proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets

• Strong problem-solving abilities and a consultative approach to customer engagement

• Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple customer accounts simultaneously

• Strong knowledge of industry standards, certifications and compliance requirements
