A construction firm in Singapore is seeking a Resident Technical Officer to supervise construction works, ensuring compliance with all specifications and project requirements. The ideal candidate will have a Diploma or Degree in Civil & Structural Engineering and at least 5 to 7 years of relevant experience supervising major projects. Strong communication and coordination skills are essential, along with the ability to work effectively with various stakeholders. This role may require willingness to work on rotating or night shifts.
Perform duties under the direction and supervision of the appointed Qualified Person(s) (QP) for the assigned project, strictly adhering to all instructions and site directives.
Supervise construction works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, design intent, and site instructions issued by the supervising Qualified Person(s).
Implement and maintain stringent quality control measures for all construction activities and materials, including conducting and witnessing required tests to ensure compliance with relevant standards.
Review and interpret project drawings and specifications, and promptly identify, report, and resolve any discrepancies or potential issues with the Qualified Person(s) and relevant stakeholders.
Attend and actively participate in project meetings with Qualified Person(s), consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders to coordinate site works and resolve construction-related matters.
Prepare and submit regular progress reports, highlighting construction status, quality observations, non-conformities, and any delays or site issues.
Minimum Diploma or Degree in Civil & Structural Engineering.
Accredited Resident Technical Officer (C&S) with the Institution of Engineers Singapore (IES) or the Association of Consulting Engineers Singapore (ACES).
At least 5 to 7 years of relevant experience as a Resident Technical Officer (RTO), with proven experience in supervising HDB, LTA, CAG and DSTA projects.
Proficient in reading and interpreting architectural, structural, and construction drawings and specifications.
Strong communication, coordination, and reporting skills, with the ability to work effectively with consultants, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
Willingness to work on rotating shifts or night shifts, when required.
A good team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
