Job summary

A renowned curators and museum in Singapore is seeking an individual to support research and administrative tasks related to exhibitions and collections development. Ideal candidates will possess a Bachelor’s degree in art history or a related field and have strong analytical and research skills. The role includes conducting research, assisting with manuscript edits, and supporting administrative tasks. This position offers a 12-month renewable contract with a salary of up to $4000, depending on experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as art history or anthropology.
  • Knowledge of Islamic art and cultures is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, writing, and research skills in English.

The Opportunity
  • Exciting opportunity to work in a renowned Curators and Museum
  • Monday - Friday/9am to 6pm
  • Location: Central
  • 12 months contract (renewable subjected to experience and business directions)
  • Salary: Up to $4000(Subjected to experience)
  • Candidates without experience but with relevant studies is welcomed to apply as training will be provided
The Talent
  • Bachelor’s degree in art history, history, anthropology, museum/curatorial studies, regional studies (Asia), or a related field
  • Keen interest in Singapore and Asia; knowledge of Islamic art and cultures is an advantage.
  • Excellent organizational, project management, and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, writing, and research skills in English; proficiency in reading Arabic script is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Job Description
  • Research

    • Conduct research and compile content for exhibitions and acquisitions using primary and secondary sources.
    • Assist with editing manuscripts, preparing bibliographies, captions, image/multimedia orders, and footnotes.
  • Exhibitions, Publications & Media

    • Support administrative tasks such as compiling artefact lists, archiving photographs, and filing documentation.
    • Assist in organizing lecture programmes.
    • Contribute to publications and media content through research, writing, sourcing assets (images, audio, video), and securing copyright clearances.
  • Collections Development

    • Assist curators with acquisitions including loans, purchases, and donations.
    • Prepare documentation, acquisition justification forms, and other administrative documents.
    • Support cataloguing of collections.
  • Other Duties

    • Perform any other tasks as assigned by management.
