Job summary

Ethos is seeking an experienced copyright counsel to assist in training a language model on professional documents and slides. The role centers on trademark and copyright work with 4+ years of practice, contributing to drafting and reviewing filings on a flexible remote schedule.

You will draft and review documents, provide opinions on clearance and fair-use, respond to office actions, and manage licensing and docket tracking in a fast-paced AI environment.

Qualifications

• Licensed attorney with 4+ years practicing trademark and/or copyright law at a firm or in-house IP team.
• Direct ownership of drafting or reviewing trademark filings, office-action responses, or infringement opinions.
• Expert-level document, spreadsheet, and slide craftsmanship, with excellent written communication and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Create and refine AI-generated documents, spreadsheets, and slide decks for trademark and copyright workflows.
• Provide trademark clearance and registrability opinions, and respond to office actions.
• Review licensing agreements, cease-and-desist letters, and track portfolios and dockets.
