Job summary

A construction management firm in Singapore is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to oversee financial aspects from design to completion. Qualifications

Job description

A Quantity Surveyor (QS) acts as the primary cost and contract manager for a construction project, overseeing financial aspects from initial design through to project completion. Key responsibilities include cost estimation, budgeting, preparing tender and contract documents, managing client and contractor relationships, monitoring expenditures, and ensuring the project adheres to quality standards and regulatory requirements. They play a crucial role in keeping projects within budget, managing risks, and resolving disputes to ensure economic efficiency and project success.

  • Report to the PM, CM, or ACM, and communicate with all project staff.
  • Prepare, monitor, and project administration.
  • Evaluate and certify progress claims, variations, and final accounts (including remeasurement) for contractors and suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual terms and manage disputes effectively.
  • Liaise with project teams to provide quotations, including quantity take-offs and the preparation of bills of quantities, as well as accurate variation cost submissions, ensuring that quotations align with specifications and construction methods.
  • Source and evaluate quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Enter data accurately and maintain up-to-date filing records.
  • Prepare all weekly/ monthly progress report
  • Compile all documents into OMM
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
  • Prepare material and equipment summary list
  • Prepare material and equipment submission
  • Setup proper site documentation according to company standard
  • Tabulate all projects costing
Requirements:
  • Diploma in Engineering, Building, Quantity Surveying, or a related field
  • Candidates with 2–3 years of relevant experience as an M&E Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry will be an advantage
