Job description

Benefits summary:

Job scope:

• Analyze metal production processes, material properties, heat‑treatment issues, and manufacturing capability to recommend corrective and preventive actions.
• Review metallurgical specifications, drawings, material certificates (MTCs), and test reports to ensure compliance with requirements.
• Conduct mechanical and metallurgical testing (e.g., hardness, tensile, microstructure analysis) when required.
• Investigate metal‑related failures or non‑conformances through root‑cause analysis (fractography, microstructure evaluation, material deviation analysis).
• Work with engineering on material selection, weld process qualification (WPS/PQR), and metal compatibility assessments.
• Review engineering changes and technical product modifications for metallurgical and quality impact.
• Audit suppliers/sub‑contractors focusing on material handling, heat‑treatment processes, machining accuracy, welding quality, and adherence to metallurgical specifications.
• Monitor quality trends related to metals (e.g., surface defects, corrosion issues, heat‑treatment variances, dimensional deviations).
• Compile and maintain metallurgical procedures, quality standards, inspection workflows and testing requirements.
