A leading engineering firm in Singapore seeks a construction coordinator to manage M&E systems. The role involves ensuring successful coordination of builder’s works, review of drawings, and compliance with safety standards. Candidates should possess a diploma or degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and have 3-5 years of experience in the construction industry. Excellent English communication skills are required, and immediate availability is preferred.
Job Description:
1. Coordination
Coordinate all builder’s works for M&E systems.
Interface with Main Contractor, M&E trades, consultants, and client.
Align builder’s works with DC construction programme.
2. Drawings & Planning
Review M&E and shop drawings to identify openings, plinths, trenches, sleeves.
Coordinate cast-in items before concreting or closing the dry wall's.
Maintain builder’s works tracking schedule.
3. Site Works
Coordinate construction of:
Equipment plinths / housekeeping pads (UPS, CRAC, switchgear)
Trenches and upstands
Wall and slab openings
Ensure works are completed before M&E installation.
4. Interface Management
Prevent clashes between structural, architectural, and M&E works.
Coordinate access, protection, and work sequencing in live DC environments.
5. Quality & Safety
Ensure builder’s works follow approved drawings and specs.
Support WSH compliance and site safety requirements.
Coordinate inspections with consultants and RTO.
6. Fire & Compliance
Coordinate fire-stopping for M&E penetrations.
Ensure compliance with SCDF and BCA requirements.
7. Cost & Variations
Identify additional builder’s works and VO items.
Support measurements and cost justification.
8. T&C & Handover
Clear builder’s works prior to Testing & Commissioning for M&E System's
Support TOP / CSC inspections and final handover.
Job Requirements:
Diploma or Degree in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
Min. 3-5 years’ experience in construction industry in Singapore.
The candidate will assist and support the Project Manager in handling and monitoring the progress of projects.
Well versed in English.
Able to commence work immediately or short notice.
