Responsibilities
- Support the Product Manager and contribute to the definition and creation of product vision, goals, and roadmaps to communicate the big picture and create business value.
- Collaborate with business owners and product users to understand and anticipate needs/wants, translating them into product requirements and enhancements.
- Act as a bridge between the product manager’s big picture goals and the working team to ensure accurate interpretation and prioritization of product requirements.
- Oversee and monitor the stages of product creation—including design, development, implementation, and maintenance—to ensure product functionalities are delivered on cost and reliably.
- Lead iteration planning with the team and coordinate dependencies with other Product Owners to ensure alignment between the team and iteration goals.
- Manage and prioritize user stories in the team backlog based on prioritized features from the Program Backlog and the Program Increment objectives.
- Develop user stories with team members and ensure completed stories are reviewed and accepted as increments according to their acceptance criteria.
- Lead iteration reviews and team demonstrations with stakeholders to gather critical feedback for adapting and delivering great products.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent formal training or work experience.
- Certification in Agile Product Development methods (especially SAFe Product Owner & Product Manager) preferred.
- Three (3) years of equivalent experience in an information technology or business environment, with working experience in agile teams (preferably using SAFe).
- Experience with defining and maintaining the product backlog, including creating user stories, epics, and other backlog items.
- Ability to prioritize backlog items based on business value, customer needs, and other relevant factors.
- Proficiency in grooming the backlog—regularly refining and updating items to reflect changing priorities or requirements.
- Hands‑on experience coordinating iteration planning and backlog grooming activities within a SAFe or similar framework.
