Job summary

A manufacturing company in Singapore is seeking a Procurement Specialist to monitor pricing, negotiate agreements with suppliers, and ensure quality materials. The ideal candidate should possess a Diploma/Degree in Supply Chain Management or Procurement and have at least 3 years of experience in procurement. Responsibilities include coordinating with various departments and ensuring compliance with procurement policies. This is a full-time, permanent position with working hours from 8:45am to 5:30pm, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

  • Good written and spoken language skills.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor pricing from LME / SME / CPO and report to Purchasing Manager.
  • Negotiate pricing agreements with suppliers.
  • Coordinate with Sales / Production for material requirements.
  • Ensure suppliers deliver quality materials as per specifications.

Job description
Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Monitor pricing closely from LME / SME / CPO and report accordingly to Purchasing Manager.
  2. Monitor market closely and ensure stability price and supply from suppliers.
  3. Foster relationship and negotiate pricing agreements with suppliers.
  4. Establish and manage term contracts for regularly used items.
  5. Close coordination with regional counter-parts to formulate and execute pricing.
  6. Source and identify alternative supply for critical or high-risk material.
  7. Coordinate with Sales / Production for their requirement and liaise with suppliers, negotiate for right price and material to support production on time.
  8. Work closely with Store and Production to ensure sufficient stock to support and execute storage space strategy.
  9. Coordinate with QC Department for raw material specification requirement, and ensure suppliers deliver the right quality as per Purchase Order spec approved by QC.
  10. Coordinate with suppliers, Production, and QC – Department on the non-conforming raw material received. Filling official compliance to suppliers and monitor closely there is no repeat on the same non-confirming for future request.
  11. Coordinate with Account Department for incoming raw material documents especially from overseas, issuing L/C, custom clearance permits and in-land trucking.
  12. Enforce QESH, Food Safety requirement and local law regulation which related to procurement of material and equipment.
  13. Assist in reviewing procurement policy and procedures.
  14. Perform any others duty as assigned by supervisor.
Job Requirements
  • Minimum Diploma/Degree in Supply Chain Management or Procurement
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in procurement
  • Excellent communication skills, meticulous, resourceful, able to multi-task
  • A team player with the ability to work independently as well as in a team
  • Positive attitude, proactive and self-initiated.
  • Good written and spoken language skill
