The Engineering Division conducts research and provides engineering services to the whole of DSO in the areas of digital and mixed‑signal electronics/microelectronics, radio frequency ( hashcode; RF), electromagnetic interference (EMI)/electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), antennas, as well as mechanical and thermal engineering.

PHOTONICS ENGINEER
RESPONSIBILITIES
Design and Development
  • Develop and design photonic devices and systems, including lasers, modulators, amplifiers, harmonic generators and detectors
  • Utilize software tools for simulating and modeling photonic devices, circuits and subsystems
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate photonic components into larger systems
Prototyping and Testing
  • Build, assemble and test prototypes to ensure functionality and performance specifications are met
  • Conduct experiments to validate design criteria and improve device performance
  • Analyze test results and troubleshoot issues
