Job summary

A dynamic trading firm in Singapore is seeking an Operations Specialist to support its trading activities. You will handle trade bookings, perform P&L calculations, and interact with teams across trading, treasury, and operations. Ideal candidates have 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in a fast-paced environment, familiarity with financial products, and strong communication skills. This role also requires proactivity and the ability to adapt quickly to changing conditions.

Qualifications

  • 2 to 5 years of experience in a detailed role at a hedge fund, prop firm, or investment bank.
  • Experience with financial derivatives such as IRS, futures, options, and cryptocurrencies.
  • Understanding of Interest Rate Risk (Duration/DV01).

As an Operations Specialist, your work will involve T-0 trade bookings, trade capture/reconciliation, profit-and-loss calculation and analysis, and a variety of other activities to support the firm’s trading activities in various asset classes. This will also be a hybrid role in which you will be looking to take on responsibilities on the Treasury side of the business. In this role, you’ll have regular direct interaction with a variety of teams, including trading, treasury, operations, and other front office personal. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high degree of professionalism is paramount.

What you’ll do in this role:
  • Perform detailed trade, position, and valuation reconciliation
  • Provide assistance in trade capture for all products related to the firm’s Global Macro trading activity
  • Field reconciliation-related inquiries from a variety of teams within the firm
  • Daily P&L calculation and substantiation
  • Support trade management activities, such as processing exercises and assignments, corporate actions, box transfers, currency conversions and life cycle events.
  • Act as a primary contact for treasury and cash queries during APAC hours
  • Reconcile firmwide cash balances, coordinate funding movements, review/process margin calls, and action daily interest accrual postings.
  • Create and approve payment templates across the firms various banking platforms to promote efficient wire processing.
  • Be a resource to the trading desk for obtaining equity locates via our Prime Brokers to support the firm’s equity trading activity
  • Research and design analytical tools to be integrated into daily procedures
  • Adopt, integrate, and promote new technology as it becomes available
You’ll be right at home if you have:
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in a detail-oriented role working at a hedge fund, prop firm, or investment bank, ideally in a front office or T-0 middle office function
  • Experience with IRS, futures, futures options, equities, equity options, FX, bonds, swaps, cryptocurrencies or other financial derivatives or products
  • Understanding of Interest Rate Risk (Duration/DV01)
  • Familiarity with Markitwire, Tradeweb, BBG is beneficial
  • Prior background in Treasury/Cash Movement related functions (Margin, wire processing, funding is a plus)
  • Previous experience with Python or other coding languages. Does not need to be proficient, but basic understanding
  • Comfort working with a variety of software and with technologists to identify firm needs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact and collaborate with global teams
  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, collaborative, and results-oriented environment, and thrive under time-sensitive and high-pressure situations
  • Self-starter with strong proactivity, sets ambitious goals, willingness to drive and own projects, and proactively identifies opportunities for impact
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, accounting, CS, or another quantitative field
