Critical Work Functions and Key Tasks
Functioning as an OSO, you will assist the Estate Manager in facilities management and be responsible in carrying out cleaning duties, enforcing access control and maintaining the general appearance of the building and surroundings in accordance with the required standards.
You are required to provide logistical and simple administrative support in school operations and undertake any other duties as directed by the Estate Manager using the prescribed methods and frequencies in line with the requirements of the cleaning specification and safe working procedures.
In-Housekeeping (Cleaning)
- Ensure high and consistent standards of cleanliness of your designated area as assigned
- Upkeep the cleanliness and tidiness of the general stores
- Clean designated areas using appropriate equipment or/and machinery with supplies as directed
- Replenish consumable items (soap, toilet rolls etc) if required
- Maintain tidy and organised work areas
- Adhere to the procedure of using equipment and chemical cleaners so as to ensure safety of everyone
- Ensure that appropriate tools and equipment are in working conditions
- Check on cleaning stock levels and inform Supervisor of low stock levels
In-Housekeeping (Pest Control)
- Assist the Estate Manager in pest control, such as supervising of fogging & anti termite treatment / surveillance
- Check and take measures to prevent mosquito breeding
- Make timely report to supervisor when detected mosquito breeding
- Conduct daily check for the 5 units of Anti Mosquitos Trackers.
Facilities Management
- Assist the Estate Manager in facilities management such as reporting faults, accompany contractors for maintenance works, check /accept tasks carried out by contractors
- Conduct daily operation check for two lifts
- Check fire alarm when activated, reset control panel and report findings
- Record electrical meters’ reading monthly
Logistical Support
- Assist in the management of donated goods, such as receiving, storage, stock taking, packing & distribution
- Provide logistic support for special events. Understand the requirement / overall layout / prepare the venue and clean up the site after the event
Access Control
- Assist in access control and maintain vigilance on strangers
- Respond to incidents and emergencies as directed
- Report operational abnormalities to Supervisor
- Direct and accompany visitors to the general office
- Act as traffic warden when directed
Safe Management
- Function as Safe Management Assistant
- Assist in enforcing Health & Safety procedures
- Report any Health & Safety issue to Supervisor
Student Movement
- Function as toilet attendant to lower primary students during peak hours
- Chaperone for student movement between locations when needed
Kitchen Operations
- To assist in kitchen operations and / or act as a relief for the kitchen crew when required
Requirements
- Knowledge of maintaining facilities
- Knowledge on food preparation & hygienic requirement
- Knowledge on workplace safety and health practices
- Knowledge of public hygiene maintenance
- Knowledge of washroom maintenance
