Job scope:

  • Design and develop/revise curriculum for nurses and nursing staff according to clinical and service needs and best practices.
  • Develop and implement e-learning resources.
  • Utilise effective teaching strategies to develop critical thinking and clinical reasoning among nurses.
  • Direct and facilitates staff development, skills and competency upgrading through in-house training, approved online learning or formal education opportunities.
  • Align continuing professional development programmes with national directives and research findings.
  • Maintain training records according to institution and accreditation standards.
  • Guide orientation/induction program and preceptorship for new staff.
  • Lead Clinical Instructors to ensure they achieve clinical learning goals.
  • Facilitate their objectives and the learning environment, and provide feedback.
  • Ensure written policies are up to date to guide nursing practices.
  • Works collaboratively with nursing supervisors to maintain clinical care and standards of nursing practices.
  • Participate in both external and internal committees related to teaching and learning.
  • Act as a resource person in education/nursing training and clinical issues to provide quality standards of care.
  • Take on additional responsibilities or tasks as assigned by the Director of Nursing.
  • Conduct learning needs analysis to identify learning gaps and training needs of nurses and care staff.
  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate programmes for nurses and care staff according to the learning needs identified.
