Job summary

A local food service provider in Singapore is seeking a Mixed Vegetable Rice Stall Staff. Responsibilities include preparing and serving dishes while ensuring food quality and hygiene. The ideal candidate will possess basic food safety knowledge and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Experience in a food stall is a plus, but not mandatory. Night shifts are required, with hours from 11pm to 8am or 10pm to 7am.

Role Description:
The Mixed Vegetable Rice Stall Staff is responsible for the daily preparation, presentation, and sale of mixed vegetable rice dishes while ensuring high standards of food quality, hygiene, and customer service. This role supports the smooth operation of the stall by maintaining efficiency during peak hours and complying with all food safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and portion mixed vegetable rice and accompanying dishes according to standard recipes and quality guidelines.
  • Serve customers promptly and courteously, taking orders accurately and handling payments when required.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the food preparation area, equipment, and serving counters in accordance with SFA regulations.
  • Assist with food preparation tasks such as washing, cutting, cooking, and reheating ingredients.
  • Monitor food freshness, temperature, and stock levels; report shortages or quality issues promptly.
  • Follow proper food handling practices, including the use of gloves, hair restraints, and appropriate attire.
  • Support opening and closing duties, including setup, cleaning, and waste disposal.
  • Work effectively as part of a team to ensure smooth daily operations.

Requirements:

  • Basic knowledge of food hygiene and safety practices (food hygiene certificate preferred).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, especially during peak meal periods.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Physically fit and able to stand for long hours.
  • Prior experience in a food stall or kitchen environment is an advantage but not mandatory.

Working Environment:

  • Restaurant and open air setting.
