Mechanical Plant Engineer – Chemical Plant
  • Location: Jurong Island, Singapore (Company Transport Provided)
  • Salary: S$3,500 – S$4,500/month (commensurate with experience)
  • Employment: Full-Time, Permanent
  • Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:45 PM

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead new equipment installations, modifications, and commissioning activities.
  • Perform troubleshooting and preventive maintenance (PM) of plant mechanical systems.
  • Manage Engineering Change Request (ECR) reduction and closure.
  • Develop and implement workplace safety and health (WSH) programs and protocols.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to specification.
  • Create and maintain internal engineering standards.
  • Conduct regular audits, inspections, and safety training.
  • Provide technical presentations and updates to management and co-workers.
  • Supervise and coach junior engineers/technicians while remaining hands‑on.
Requirements
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering (minimum 3 years of relevant experience), or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (minimum 5 years of relevant experience).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and ability to read P&ID drawings.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical materials, applications, and motorized equipment servicing.
  • Hands‑on experience in equipment installation, modifications, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
  • Good written and spoken English with strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Leadership, negotiation, and collaboration abilities.
  • Independent, resourceful, safety‑minded, and motivated problem‑solver.
Preferred Skills
  • High‑pressure equipment certification.
  • Experience in chemical or process plant operations.
  • MNC background with exposure to structured engineering practices.
  • Proven ability to develop engineering standards and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
