The Job

As a Marine Broker within Client's Singapore office, you will be integral to their Marine & Cargo team. You will be responsible for placing and servicing marine, hull, cargo, transit and related marine liability business across regional and global markets. You will work closely with internal stakeholders and underwriters to deliver tailored solutions, negotiate terms, and support clients throughout the risk lifecycle.

You will be responsible for:

  • Leading new business, renewals, and mid‑term adjustments for marine / cargo accounts
  • Structuring marine risk solutions aligned to clients’ operations and exposure
  • Preparing and delivering high‑quality underwriting submissions, broking slips, cover notes, and market presentations
  • Negotiating terms, pricing, and coverage with underwriters across multiple jurisdictions
  • Coordinating with internal reinsurance / facultative colleagues for support when required
  • Advising clients on risk mitigation, transport logistics, shipping operations, and marine loss prevention
  • Assisting clients through the claims process, liaising with insurers and facilitating resolution
  • Keeping abreast of marine market trends, regulatory changes, trade flows, and technical developments
  • Upholding compliance with internal governance, Lloyd’s / market rules, and jurisdictional regulations
  • Maintaining accurate records in the firm’s broking system and support team workflows
  • Mentoring junior brokers and colleagues within the marine team
Ideal Candidate
  • You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Marine Engineering, Risk, Logistics or equivalent
  • You possess 4+ years’ experience in marine / cargo broking, hull, marine liability or transit
  • You have a Sound technical grounding in marine clauses, Incoterms, logistics, shipping
  • You possess Demonstrable track record in placing marine business in international markets
  • You are Excellent in verbal and written communication, negotiation and stakeholder skills
  • You are Proficient in MS Office and broking / underwriting systems
  • Industry credentials (e.g. ACII, CII, marine insurance certification) preferred
  • You are Resilient, client‑focused, detail‑oriented, and team‑minded
