About the role

Banyan Energy Pte. Ltd. is seeking a highly motivated Junior Trade Operations professional to join our dynamic team in the Central Region. As a Junior Trade Operations, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth execution and settlement of trades within our fast-paced stockbroking and trading environment. This full-time position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your career in the banking and financial services sector.

What you'll be doing
  1. Handle day to day operations for bulk cargoes particularly in Petroleum and/or Petrochemicals (including physical trades) in a timely and accurate manner.
  2. Preparation of contracts and countering of contract terms with counterparties.
  3. Liaise with internal teams, external brokers, and clearing houses to ensure successful trade execution and settlement.
  4. Maintain detailed trade records regularly.
  5. Monitor and follow the shipment progress and to anticipate any changes and to plan and resolve any potential issues that may arise.
  6. Assist with counterparties inquiries and provide exceptional customer service.
  7. Handling full spectrum of L/C related matters (Import & Export).
  8. Support the team in identifying and resolving any trade-related issues or discrepancies.
  9. Contribute to the continuous improvement of trade operations processes and procedures.
What we're looking for
  1. Bachelor's degree in (business, economics, financial, petrochemicals, engineering) a related field.
  2. Minimum 1 year of experience in trade operations or a similar role in the petrochemical industry.
  3. Strong attention to detail and excellent numerical and analytical skills.
  4. Open-minded, willing to learn and able to adapt to fast moving pace and dynamic environment.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  6. Ability to work well in a team and under pressure to meet deadlines.
  7. Proficiency in reading and writing English and able to converse in Chinese. Fluency in Malay is a plus.
