  • Conduct firm-wide inspections in assessing the firm’s compliance with SSQM, and inspections of the individual public accountant’s work to ensure compliance with prescribed auditing standards.
  • Ensure that the inspection methodology remains relevant, effective and responsive – provide inputs to the risk rating analysis (i.e. peer rating exercise) of audit firms after the firm‑wide inspection to identify issues and facilitate their risk management, and populate the risk‑based assessment for each firm.
  • Conduct/participate in other ad hoc projects to ensure that ACRA’s regulatory framework for the accountancy sector remains relevant, effective and responsive to developments in the environment.
What we are looking for:
  • Risk‑based thinking and management – ability to analyse and make decisions using a risk‑based approach to develop strategic insights and enforcement strategies to optimise the level of regulation in the evolving enforcement landscape.
  • Analytics – ability to use data and analytics to generate insights for business intelligence to improve voluntary compliance.
  • Tech & Digital Adopter – ability to leverage technology and digital tools as core enablers to optimise and enhance enforcement operations and achieve enforcement outcomes.
  • System thinking – ability to look at linkage between processes and how information flows between processes and make recommendations to streamline processes/operations.
  • Professional qualification or certification preferably in accountancy.
  • At least 8 years of external audit experience in a public accounting firm.
  • Familiarity with SSQM and Singapore Standards on Auditing.
  • Demonstrates technical competency in financial reporting and auditing standards with the ability to identify, apply, resolve or report on complex accounting or auditing issues during the course of work, effective in drawing from professional experience to perform inspection or investigation work.
  • Strong analytical skills to distil all available facts and bring to focus discussions on key issues.
  • Good knowledge of the various requirements/provisions of professional standards/regulations.
  • Good project management skills and the ability to work within stipulated timelines.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and organisational skills.
