Key Responsibilities
Distribution Strategy and Network Design
- Define and implement the physical distribution strategy in alignment with the commercial objectives.
- Lead "Time to market" projects to adapt to shifting business dynamics and optimize L’Oreal time to market.
Warehouse Management and Operations
- Supervise third‑party logistics providers (3PL) to ensure seamless daily operations.
- Monitor key operational activities: receiving, picking, packing, dispatching, inventory management, labelling & kitting.
- Implement practices to drive continuous improvement in the warehouse environment to further improve productivity / reduce cost & waste.
- Ensure that all distribution activities comply with local labor laws, health and safety regulations, and Group quality standards.
Transportation and Freight Management
- Manage relationships with transport service providers, ensuring they meet L'Oréal’s strict delivery requirements.
- Optimize transport filling rates / routing & air to sea conversion to reduce the carbon footprint of distribution, contributing to the "L'Oréal for the Future" sustainability goals.
- Negotiate contracts and service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure cost‑competitiveness / reliability.
- Oversee the handling of "Dangerous Goods" (e.g., aerosols, flammable liquids) in accordance with international shipping regulations.
Budget and Performance Management
- Manage the Physical Distribution budget - P&L responsibility for warehousing and transport costs.
- Track and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as Order Fill Rate, On-Time In-Full delivery, distribution cost per unit, and CO2 emissions.
Team Leadership and Collaboration
- Lead and develop a performing international team, fostering a culture of agility.
- Collaborate closely with Demand Planning, Sales, and Customer Care teams to ensure the distribution plan supports business changes and achieves customer satisfaction.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Education
Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, or Business Administration.
Experience
10-15 years of experience in logistics or distribution management, preferably within the FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) or Beauty industry.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of logistics market trends and regulatory environments.
- Data-driven mindset with advanced analytical skills.
- Understanding of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERPs (like SAP).
