Role Overview
The Head of Operations will oversee and lead all operational functions of the Bank, ensuring efficient, compliant, and risk‑managed delivery of banking services. The role requires a seasoned operations leader who can strengthen operational infrastructure, drive process improvements, and support the strategic growth of the bank in Singapore and the wider region.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operational Management
- Oversee daily branch and back‑office operations, including payments, settlements, trade finance operations, remittances, and deposit administration.
- Ensure all operational processes comply with internal policies, MAS regulations, and international banking standards.
- Drive efficiency and automation initiatives to enhance operational productivity and customer service quality.
2. Risk, Compliance & Controls
- Maintain a strong internal control framework across all operational areas to mitigate operational and financial risks.
- Collaborate with Compliance, Risk, and Audit teams to ensure full regulatory compliance and timely reporting to MAS and Head Office.
- Implement corrective actions based on internal audit and regulatory feedback.
3. People Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop the Operations team to foster a high‑performance and compliance‑oriented culture.
- Promote collaboration across departments, ensuring alignment with business and risk management objectives.
4. Strategic & Process Improvements
- Lead operational readiness for new product launches and business initiatives.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and digital transformation.
- Drive projects related to system upgrades, automation, and operational excellence.
5. Stakeholder Management
- Act as the key liaison with internal and external stakeholders including regulators, auditors, Head Office, and key vendors.
- Provide operational insights and recommendations to senior management for strategic decision‑making.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field; Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., ACIB, CPA) preferred.
- Minimum 10–15 years of experience in banking operations, with at least 5 years in a senior managerial capacity.
- Strong knowledge of MAS regulations, local banking operations, and compliance frameworks.
- Proven leadership and people management skills with the ability to lead cross‑functional teams.
- Experience in digital banking operations or operational transformation initiatives will be advantageous.
- Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and stakeholder management skills.
