Role Summary
The Head of Commercial & Events owns the Club’s commercial strategy and end-to-end events function, driving sustainable revenue growth across membership-related experiences, private events, partnerships, and corporate bookings while safeguarding brand standards and member experience. This role leads the commercial pipeline, sets pricing and packaging, manages key accounts, and ensures flawless delivery of member and private events.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Leadership
- Own and deliver the annual commercial plan (revenue targets, channel strategy, segment focus, and pipeline management).
- Build and maintain a high-quality pipeline across corporate entertaining, private dining, brand partnerships, and curated member events (where relevant).
- Define pricing, minimum spends, packages, and contract terms in line with margin and guest experience objectives.
- Lead key account management: acquire, grow, and retain strategic clients and partners.
- Partner with Finance to ensure accurate forecasting, weekly pacing, and reporting discipline.
Events Strategy & Delivery
- Oversee the full events lifecycle: enquiry > proposal > site visit > contracting > planning > execution > post-event reconciliation and feedback.
- Set event operating standards, service levels, and playbooks (BEO discipline, run sheets, guest flow, service recovery).
- Curate a calendar of member programming (where applicable) aligned with brand positioning and commercial outcomes.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Collaborate with Operations, Culinary, Wine, Membership, and Marketing to ensure capacity planning, menu feasibility, and consistent execution.
- Work with Marketing on lead generation, campaign calendars, content needs, and partnership launches.
- Ensure compliance with licensing, safety, supplier onboarding, and venue policies.
People & Performance
- Lead, coach, and develop the commercial/events team with clear KPIs and performance cadence.
- Establish a culture of accountability, responsiveness, and meticulous attention to detail.
Success Metrics (KPIs)
- Monthly/quarterly revenue attainment (events, commercial bookings, partnerships).
- Pipeline health: conversion rate, lead-to-proposal time, proposal-to-contract time.
- Event profitability: contribution margin, minimum spend compliance, leakage control.
- Guest/member satisfaction: NPS/feedback scores, complaint resolution effectiveness.
- Forecast accuracy and reporting timeliness.
