About the role

Full-time role based in Samsung Hub office building, working as a Freight & Chartering Executive for Capital Human Resource Management Pte. Ltd, a leading company in the Commodities Trading industry. In this strategic position, you will be responsible for supporting the logistics and freight requirements of the company's commodities trading business.

What you'll be doing

  1. Manage freight and chartering requirements for dry cargo and palm oil shipments, including spot, COA, and time-charter arrangements.
  2. Source and negotiate competitive freight rates with ship owners, brokers, carriers, and freight forwarders.
  3. Prepare freight evaluations, voyage calculations, and fixture recaps to support trading and operational decisions.
  4. Handle the full chartering process from enquiry, negotiation, recap preparation, to post-fixture follow‑up.
  5. Coordinate with traders, suppliers, customers, shipping agents, and operations teams to ensure smooth voyage execution.
  6. Monitor market trends, vessel positions, port conditions, and freight rates to provide timely insights.
  7. Review and ensure accuracy of charter party agreements, shipping documentation, and operational instructions.
  8. Maintain strong relationships with ship owners, brokers, agents, and logistics partners.

What we're looking for

  1. Diploma or Degree in Maritime Studies, Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or related field.
  2. Minimum 3‑5 years of relevant experience in freight, chartering, shipping operations, or commodities trading (experience with dry bulk and/or palm oil preferred).
  3. Strong knowledge of freight structures, charter party agreements, Incoterms, shipping documentation, and laytime calculations.
  4. Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
  5. Ability to manage multiple shipments and fixtures concurrently in a fast‑paced trading environment.
