Join us as a Finance Executive – Payroll/General Cashier in Hotel Indigo Singapore Katong. We’re looking for someone who has ambition, talent, and key skills. The role involves the following responsibilities and requirements.

Responsibilities

Financial Returns

  • Daily banking, including collection of banking envelopes from sales, opening, counting, and balancing
  • Process petty cash as required and reconcile daily/weekly; prepare petty cash summary for reimbursement via giro
  • Issue and return house bank contracts; prepare house bank accounts summary monthly
  • Process due backs daily
  • Perform payroll processing and month-end closing with high accuracy; ensure monthly and yearly submissions to authorities are timely
  • Develop and maintain current payroll processing procedures
  • Ensure overtime claims are supported by proper approval and authorization
  • Prepare input for payroll run (hours worked, terminations, adjustments, annual/sick/recreation leave)
  • Prepare manual payments for termination
  • Verify leave entitlement for all leave requests prior to approval
  • Train back-up payroll officer in manpower procedures and responsibilities
  • Prepare monthly/yearly internal manpower analysis reports
  • Reconcile automatic payroll deductions (housing loan, superannuation, city ledger, etc.)
  • Supervise filing of payroll reports
  • Journalize payroll summaries each month
  • Supervise filing pay slips
  • Review year-to-date tax calculations and tax returns
  • Reconcile employee shop (where applicable) and prepare journals for all transactions
  • Prepare income tax payments to Tax Office
  • Prepare provident fund and other related payments to the CPF Board
  • Prepare all other payments and submissions to local authorities on specific timing

People

  • Coordinate and communicate with other departments on accounting and internal control matters
  • Attend to employee inquiries related to pay issues
  • Interact with external parties as needed (banks, tax auditors, other hotels, IHG corporate offices)

Guest Experience

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with internal customers and guests to exceed their needs
  • Take action to address needs to exceed expectations

Accountability

  • Ensure compliance with IHG policies, procedures, and statutory requirements
  • Maintain accounting controls and suggest improvements to workflows
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of information
  • Assist in analyzing monthly financial accounts and provide information to Finance Manager
  • Update contracts, licenses, CAPEX, and Fixed Asset documents accurately and timely
  • Coordinate with 3rd party payroll software providers as needed
  • Maintain relations with CPF/MOM/Labour Offices to ensure correct and current pay rates; keep copies of labour/union agreements
  • Assist in monthly forecasting and annual budget input related to payroll data
  • Coordinate and administer CSA audits; liaise with Owner Office, IRAS, auditors
  • Report to the Manager of Finance & Business Support on accounting and financial controls
  • Perform other duties as required
