Job summary

A leading financial institution in Singapore is seeking a seasoned professional to manage its Corporate Credit Portfolio for the India business. Applicants should have at least 15 years of experience in credit management and the ability to lead a team of Credit Officers. Strong knowledge of South East Asia's corporate banking segment is essential. This role demands excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills, as well as the capability to make critical credit decisions independently within the governance framework.

Job description
  1. Responsible for management of Corporate Credit Portfolio of India business as part of Credit Department (2nd line of business).
  2. To manage and support a team of Credit Officers in their review and assessment of several types of credit applications submitted from business units.
  3. To make appropriate credit decisions independently and neutrally which includes evaluation, challenge, and recommendation/approval in relation to front office proposed deals, waivers, annual reviews, credit monitoring/grading, etc.
  4. Establish an adequate action plan for obligors likely to deteriorate to minimize credit costs.
  5. Conduct credit portfolio analysis in terms of corporate groups, industry risks, commodity price, currency risks, ESG risk, internal grading, type of financial product, etc. from time to time.
  6. Monitor and proactively control credit exposures under large corporates and/or certain industries for increased concern on concentration and industry risks, in cooperation with other relevant teams / departments.
  7. Build a strong compliance and risk management culture, ensuring compliance with the Bank’s risk policies, procedures, regulatory compliance standards and required practices.
  8. Discuss within department and with business units to improve credit risk management, as deemed necessary.
JOB REQUIREMENT
  1. Working Experience: 15 years
  2. Seasoned credit analysis skills and ability to manage a team of Credit Officers.
  3. Experience of working in credit department of a bank with Credit Approval Authority.
  4. Strong knowledge of credit portfolio related to South East Asia Corporate banking segment. Knowledge of Financial Institutions and NBFI sector, PF lending, Structured Finance, LBO finance, Real Estate Finance etc. will be an advantage.
  5. Bachelor's degree from a reputed institute. Additional professional qualifications for credit risk management will be an advantage.
