The role of the Enterprise Architect is to expand the client's use of data, systems, and applications as a strategic enabler of corporate goals and objectives.
The Enterprise Architect will help define the Enterprise Architecture using standard Enterprise Architecture frameworks and methodologies. The Architecture elements to consider include Data Architecture and Technical Architecture with a good understanding of the requirements of the Application Architecture on supporting Infrastructure. Data integration/interoperability including SOA (Services Oriented Architecture) and Information Management strategy will also be key elements of the Enterprise Architecture function.
Position Summary and Primary Objectives
The EA will need to focus on application, database, system, and infrastructure information and data interaction including alignment with the Information Management and Strategy function and other business information domains.
The Application, Data, and Technical Architecture will involve the identification, definition, and creation of architecture artefacts associated with reference architectures, blueprints, patterns, information as a service, logical and physical information and data models, interaction diagrams, standards, governance, applications and technology obsolescence planning and management. This includes the support of data governance, repository standards, information infrastructure, and core information management capabilities such as: master data management, data capacity management, indexing and searching across structured and unstructured data in the federated enterprise, data lifecycle management, reporting, data security, analytics, and enterprise content management.

Support development of 3-5 year roadmaps for technology domains and services that articulate Dimension Data's evolution based on strategic and architectural analysis.
Apply a structured business architecture approach and methodology for capturing the key views of the client’s business units in the context of the enterprise.
Capture the tactical and strategic business goals that provide traceability through the organization and are mapped to metrics that provide ongoing governance.
Describe the primary business functions of the assigned client in the context of the enterprise and distinguish between customer-facing, supplier-related, business execution and business management functions.
Enumerate, analyze, catalog, and suggest improvements to the client’s strategic, core and support processes, as needed, to support strategic and operational goals.
Define the client’s data elements and the relationships between those data elements and processes, people, systems, and other data elements.
Enumerate, analyze, and suggest improvements to the structural relationships of the business. This requires the creation and maintenance of an ongoing model of roles and capabilities, and the interplay between a client’s business units in various business processes, materials, people, and systems.
Qualify opportunities
Requirements: Education, Training and Experience
Strong business/process knowledge of the financial services industry in the context of applying information management and services.
Proven experience with business and technical requirements analysis, business process modelling/mapping, methodology development, and data modelling.
Strong knowledge financial services regulatory and data sovereignty requirements
In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with Enterprise Architecture strategy and roadmap development utilizing standard framework and methodologies such as TOGAF or Zachman.
IT operations experience with good understanding of ITIL processes
Experience and ability to develop Application Architecture, Data Architecture, and Technical Architecture artefacts covering business process flows, data flows, data models, etc
Hands-on experience with data architecting, large-scale data modelling, and business requirements gathering/analysis.
Direct experience in implementing large scale and complex IT projects involving multiple technologies.
Strong understanding of relational data structures, theories, principles, and practices.
Demonstrated expertise with financial services application environment, and data / information system life cycle methodologies.
Experience with business requirements analysis, entity relationship planning, reporting structures, and Master Data Management
Ability to manage system, data and metadata migration.
Experience with database platforms
Strong understanding and experience of Web services, SOA, and EAI
