A leading chemical manufacturer in Singapore seeks an experienced maintenance engineer to oversee plant electrical equipment and ensure compliance with safety standards. This role requires a diploma in engineering, at least 6 years of hands-on experience, and strong troubleshooting skills. The candidate should be capable of working in high-pressure environments and leading multi-discipline teams. The position offers opportunities for continuous development and 24/7 support responsibilities.
The position works mainly in maintenance and engineering of plant process electrical equipment, instrumentations controls, equipment field automation and infrastructure maintenance.
Oversee plant EICS asset integrity, reliability, and corrective maintenance in compliance with AIP standards.
Develop and implement electrical safety procedures, engineering, and maintenance procedures, ensuring safe isolation of electrical equipment.
Diagnose faults using pneumatic, electrical, and electronic test equipment; interpret manufacturers’ manuals for maintenance activities.
Troubleshoot and maintain HV/LV switchgears, transformers, circuit breakers, MCCs, DBs, UPS systems, VFDs, and soft starters.
Perform proof (trip) testing, loop checks, calibration, and inspections of hazardous area equipment.
Maintain and troubleshoot burner management systems, DCS, SIS, F&G, SCADA, PLCs, HMIs, analyzers, control valves, actuators, and detectors.
Lead daily and shutdown maintenance planning and scheduling, including ITPM activities and CMMS updates.
Collaborate with operations and maintenance contractors to ensure optimum execution of maintenance activities.
Provide 24/7 call‑out support for plant troubleshooting and maintenance emergencies.
Conduct data logging, trend analysis, performance monitoring, and reporting.
Support hazard recognition, zone classification, and equipment inspections in hazardous areas.
Other duties as assigned to meet business and operation needs.
Diploma or NTC qualification in a technical or engineering discipline; an electrical or instrumentation discipline would be essential.
Minimum of 6 years hands on maintenance experience in the process plant and related industries.
Good functional knowledge and experience in the maintenance of Process Equipment and Instrumentations.
Good PC skills and understanding of electrical drawings, logic diagrams, programming, schematics, loop drawings and P&IDs.
Good interpersonal and communications skills.
Ability to work effectively in a multi-discipline and multi-cultural team in a high‑pressure environment.
