A leading chemical distribution firm in Singapore seeks a Supply Chain Manager to oversee the development and execution of the Supply Chain strategy for the SEA region. You will manage key processes, including planning, logistics, and inventory control, while ensuring high service levels through collaboration with commercial teams. Candidates should have at least 12 years of experience in Supply Chain with leadership skills and SAP knowledge. This role is pivotal for driving operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
Develop, communicate and execute the Supply Chain strategy for SEA in close collaboration with Supply Chain Global/Asia Pacific and SEA Commercial team.
Develop procedures and processes to support optimal service levels to customers and suppliers by collaborating with Commercial, Customer Service, Finance and QSHE
Own the Supply Chain processes including Planning, Shipping, Inventory Control, Warehousing, Distribution and Logistics for products and value-added services
Own and improve SEA Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process to optimize customer service levels and working capital using forecasting and inventory control best practices
Inbound Logistics – improve efficiencies and cost structure for ordering and importation of products
Manage stock levels, including safety stocks, lead times, delivery optimization and distribution requirements planning (DRP) to ensure inventory is maintained at the optimum levels in the optimum locations
Optimize and maintain information flow on inbound and outbound shipments to ensure availability of up-to-date delivery information
Lead and communicate the development of Warehousing & Delivery processes from arrival of goods into the warehouses to the delivery to customers
Enhance, identify and invest in value-added services including physical and virtual receiving, checking, storing, sampling, toll manufacturing (repackaging, mixing and blending), picking, staging, inspecting, loading, routing, and delivery to support Commercial Customer Strategies
Manage and maintain efficient, cost-effective, professional, on-time deliveries to customers
Oversee the management and performance of existing 3PL arrangements and assess current and future warehousing and logistics needs
Oversee the management of warehousing contracts including undertaking negotiations as required
Ensure inventory control is maintained including cycle counts and reconciliations, SLOB stock process, disposals, etc
Lead SAP Item Master Data maintenance for new and existing products
Key owner of SAP processes to roll out updates from regional SAP team
Oversee implementation and ongoing improvements of Supply Chain related IT systems such as Certificates of Analysis, Document Management (TDS, SDS), etc
Report on Key Performance Indicators for all aspects of the supply chain
Manage functional projects from requirement gathering to implementation and follow up in close collaboration with relevant country resources to ensure that projects are planned and executed with due consideration to quality, costs, timing and QSHE
Co‑ordinate CAPEX projects from the requirement to implementation and follow up; all in close collaboration with relevant country and Asia Pacific resources to ensure that projects are planned and executed with due consideration to quality, costs, timing, and safety
Identify and assist in implementation of process improvement opportunities in conjunction with senior management, SEA commercial team and customer service
Manage Customer Service Excellence as measured by external customer feedback
Work cohesively with internal/external stakeholders ensuring a customer‑centric culture is achieved and maintained
Identify opportunities for cost savings and submit OPEX and CAPEX budgets annually
Manage ongoing operational expenses, both internal and external (3PLs) so that superior customer experience is achieved with optimal and sustainable cost base
Review Job7’s and follow through to action improvements, addressing areas of sub‑optimal performance with corrective and preventive actions
Manage and report all non‑conformances, acting on repetitive non‑conformances
Identify and implement changes to ensure a measured reduction in non‑conformances and overall operation efficiency gains are achieved in an environment of continuous improvement
Lead the Supply Chain function ensuring regional expectations are met
Lead the recruitment, retention, and development of the team ensuring personal and professional development is undertaken

Build an exceptional customer‑centric culture
Actively participate in the annual People Performance Management process (PPM), establishing individual KPIs and monitoring performance to ensure targets and effective work outcomes are achieved

Ensure correct storage of goods and services under the Product Stewardship specifications
Tertiary qualified in relevant field (Supply Chain/ Operations / Logistics Management)
Minimum 12 years’ experience in Supply Chain or related field
Minimum 6 years’ experience managing large teams within Supply Chain
Evidenced ability to lead change, improve engagement and deliver results
Comfortable with "getting your hands dirty" in the details of a plant's operations while maintaining a high‑level regional view
Working knowledge and experience in the chemical industry advantageous
Working knowledge and experience of SAP including in‑depth understanding of purchasing/planning/logistics and warehousing
Strong commercial and business acumen with demonstrated strategic agility
Proven leadership skills with ability to coach, develop, mentor and inspire
Strategic agility - ability to envision and execute strategies and projects
Highly developed interpersonal skills – active listener and outstanding communicator
