Job description

We are seeking an experienced Director, Total Rewards to lead the design, governance, and delivery of our global total rewards strategy. This role plays a critical part in attracting, motivating, and retaining top talent while ensuring internal equity, external competitiveness, and regulatory compliance across jurisdictions.

Reporting to the Managing Director, Total Rewards, the incumbent will partner closely with senior leadership, Finance, Legal, and business leaders to align rewards strategies with organisational priorities, performance outcomes, and long-term sustainability.

Key Responsibilities
Total Rewards Strategy & Governance
  • Develop and lead an integrated total rewards strategy covering compensation, benefits, incentives, and recognition, aligned with business strategy and talent objectives.
  • Establish clear governance frameworks, policies, and controls to ensure consistency, fairness, and risk management across geographies.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior management and Board/Remuneration Committees on rewards-related matters.
Compensation & Incentives
  • Oversee job architecture, job evaluation, and market benchmarking to ensure competitive and equitable pay structures.
  • Design and manage annual salary review, bonus, and long-term incentive processes, including performance calibration and funding recommendations.
  • Support executive and senior leadership remuneration, including pay design and approvals where applicable.
Performance & Pay for Performance
  • Partner with HR and business leaders to strengthen pay-for-performance linkages and ensure reward outcomes are aligned with performance and values.
  • Provide insights and analytics on reward outcomes, trends, and risk areas.
Compliance, Risk & Stakeholder Management
  • Ensure compliance with local labour laws, tax regulations, and governance requirements across jurisdictions.
  • Manage external vendors and consultants (e.g. compensation surveys, benefits providers).
  • Collaborate closely with Finance, Tax, Legal, and Risk teams on rewards-related matters.
Leadership & Capability Building
  • Lead and develop a high-performing total rewards team, building strong technical capability and business partnership.
  • Drive continuous improvement, digitisation, and process efficiency within the total rewards function.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or a related discipline; advanced or professional qualifications (e.g. CCP, GRP) are an advantage.
  • Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in total rewards or compensation & benefits, with significant leadership exposure.
  • Experience in financial services, investment, or large complex organisations preferred.
  • Strong understanding of executive compensation, incentive design, and multi-jurisdictional rewards governance.
