Role Overview

The Design Lead is a senior creative and technical leadership role responsible for driving strong design direction from concept to execution. This role balances design excellence, team mentorship, client engagement, and cross‑functional collaboration, ensuring that projects are not only visually compelling but also practical, buildable, and aligned with client objectives.

You will lead design teams, guide junior designers, and be a key custodian of company’s design standards, while working closely with Project Managers, Quantity Surveyors and the construction team to deliver thoughtful, high‑quality spaces.

Key Responsibilities
Design & Creative Leadership
  • Lead concept design, space planning, and design development across projects.
  • Translate client briefs into clear, creative, and buildable design solutions.
  • Review and uphold design quality across layouts, 3Ds, presentations, and drawings.
Team Leadership
  • Guide, mentor, and support designers and junior team members.
  • Review work‑in‑progress and provide constructive design feedback.
  • Support team planning and workload management.
  • Act as a key design point‑of‑contact for clients.
  • Lead and participate in client presentations and design discussions.
  • Manage design feedback and guide revisions effectively.
Technical & Cross‑Functional Coordination
  • Oversee design documentation and coordination with PM, QS, and consultants.
  • Ensure compliance with authority requirements and fit‑out guidelines.
  • Support smooth design‑to‑build transition through collaboration with site teams and need to work ad‑hoc basis on weekends and public holidays if project schedule requires.
