What the role is

The Singapore Tourism Board’s (STB) Communications Division resides within the Marketing Group. The team supports STB in the area of public relations, media engagement and marketing campaigns to drive corporate and destination messaging and safeguards STB’s corporate identity and reputation. The officer is responsible for providing support on media‑related matters to Line Units and strategic counsel to Regional Offices in support of tourism development in Singapore, and to promote STB’s destination campaigns and initiatives to the public, stakeholders, and the media. The officer plays a critical role in ensuring STB’s communication and public relations activities are effective, efficient, and aligned with the board's objectives and values.

What you will be working on

As a communications / public relations specialist, you will provide support on media‑related matters to Line Units and strategic counsel to Regional Offices in support of tourism development in Singapore. Specifically, your role includes:

  • Communications Planning & Message Development: Advise on integrated PR approaches to projects; develop and execute integrated PR plans; craft media materials including press releases, speeches, message houses, media responses and interview talking points
  • Media Engagement (traditional, online and social): Cultivate media, manage media events, handle media queries, sound out media on interesting story angles, facilitate media interviews and monitor/analyse media coverage
  • Crisis Communications & Issues Management: Identify, anticipate and advise on potential issues; develop communications plans to manage issues and crises
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Management: Manage and advise internal and relevant external stakeholders on media communications and public relations strategies and execution
  • Marketing Communications: Work with marketing teams on integrating media communications initiatives within marketing strategies and campaigns/activities for key projects
  • Strategic Counsel: Provide counsel on media‑related matters to regional offices
