Job description
Responsibilities
  • Assist clients with basic and instrumental activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, feeding, nasogastric tube feeding, and transfers.
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and organized living environment within households and shared areas.
  • Foster positive relationships with seniors and their families through regular, open communication.
  • Identify and escalate behavioral concerns in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Plan, curate, and facilitate recreational programs (e.g., baking, arts and crafts, exercise, cognitive games), including those suitable for seniors with dementia or mental health conditions.
  • Encourage and supervise senior participation in center-based activities; monitor and document engagement levels.
  • Perform range of motion (ROM) exercises and support mobility and rehabilitation efforts.
  • Integrate maintenance rehab routines into daily senior care plans.
  • Observe and document seniors’ progress; communicate relevant data to therapy or nursing staff to support care quality.
  • Assist with medication-related tasks, including serving pre-packed meds, administering eye drops, and applying topical treatments as prescribed.
  • Monitor and record vital health indicators (e.g., blood pressure, glucose, oxygen saturation); escalate to nursing staff when necessary.
  • Respond effectively to emergency situations; administer CPR / AED and first aid as needed.
  • Follow strict infection control protocols and uphold workplace hygiene and safety.
  • Monitor inventory levels and report shortages or restocking needs when required.
