About the role

Ushidoki Wagyu Kaiseki, a prominent restaurant in the heart of Downtown Tanjong Pagar, is seeking a talented Chef de Partie to join their esteemed culinary team. This full-time role will allow you to showcase your expertise in Japanese cuisine and contribute to the delivery of an exceptional dining experience for our guests.

What you'll be doing
  1. Assist the Head Chef in the preparation and presentation of meticulously crafted Kaiseki-style dishes
  2. Ensure the highest standards of food quality, safety, and hygiene are maintained in the kitchen
  3. Collaborate with the kitchen team to coordinate the efficient flow of service and timely delivery of dishes
  4. Contribute to the development and refinement of new menu items, drawing inspiration from traditional Japanese culinary techniques
  5. Mentor and train junior members of the kitchen staff, sharing your knowledge and expertise
  6. Maintain a clean, organised, and well-stocked kitchen environment
What we're looking for
  1. Minimum 2 years of experience as a Chef de Partie or equivalent, ideally in a high-end Japanese or Kaiseki restaurant
  2. Thorough understanding of Japanese culinary traditions, ingredients, and flavour profiles
  3. Strong attention to detail, with the ability to consistently deliver visually stunning and delicious dishes
  4. Excellent time management and multitasking skills to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  5. Passion for continuous learning and a willingness to adapt to new techniques and trends in the industry
  6. Strong team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
