Job summary

A precision engineering company in Singapore is looking for a Purchasing Officer to handle sourcing, negotiation, and purchase of materials. The ideal candidate will have a Diploma in Engineering and strong negotiation skills. Responsibilities include monitoring deliveries, analyzing quotes, and liaising with suppliers to ensure quality and cost-effective procurement. This role requires effective communication and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Preferred to have NTC / Diploma in Engineering field or equivalent.
• Advantageous with practical machining and costing background.
• Good negotiation skills, in purchasing at the lowest possible cost without compromising on quality and delivery.

Job Description & Requirements

1. Responsible in executing directives as set forth for the Purchasing Department in meeting management objectives.
2. Provide primarily support at material department, as well as to Sales department on quotation of standard purchase items.
3. Source, negotiate & purchase of materials, especially electronics and mechanical components.
4. Sending out inquiry to multiple sources for the best price and delivery.
5. Analyze quote and recommend source of purchase.
6. Create purchase order and update purchase list and summary.
7. Monitor the purchase WIP to ensure correct quantity and delivery fulfillment.
8. Liaison with suppliers on Goods return, reject or repair.
9. Review and assess vendor performance on quality, pricing, delivery and service.
10. Set targets regularly for material cost reduction.
11. Management of materials to minimize excess or obsolete.
12. Maintain the approved suppliers/vendors listing.
13. Evaluate and re-evaluate the suppliers/vendors performance.
14. Participate in the implementation of risk assessment and risk control of medical devices.
