Job description

The MCR Engineer is responsible for the core of the station’s technical facilities, acquisition of live and recorded media via Satellite, Fiber, and IP Technology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for receiving various feeds through Fiber as well as Satellite. Shuffle audio of feed through MMS Client as per house format, and provide live event sources to TX.
  • Strong knowledge of audio-visual (AV) technology involves video formats, multi-language audio tracks, understanding the equipment, setups, and troubleshooting for audio and visual systems.
  • Upload the Ingest schedule into the ingest scheduler.
  • Check all ingest live feeds routed properly to the ingest application.
  • Testing Audio and Video Quality of Given Links during Live Telecast.
  • Operate & communicate with the core technical facilities for the acquisition of live feed via satellite, fiber, or IP Technology.
  • Monitoring of server, storage, network switch, Power supply, and other equipment.
  • Undertake Quality Control and transcoding of all incoming streams or package transfers to Media Servers.
  • Regularly update the station router as per the event schedule.
  • Identify & resolve the issues and take immediate preventative action to restore traffic.
  • Feed venue coordination for Error‑free transmission (Feed management).
  • Conduct routine checks and maintenance of MCR equipment, including FMS servers, routers, Buzzers, and monitoring tools.
  • Documentation of shift reports, technical incidents, and resolutions for future reference.
  • Ensure the monitoring and adjustment of incoming feed according to the broadcasting Standards and follow the statutory compliance.
Skills and Competencies
  • Strong understanding of conducting live events & managing multiple tasks.
  • Fluent English speaker and able to communicate effectively in writing.
  • Able to report technical issues through clear diagrams.
  • Should be able to translate user requirements into technical requirements and technical specifications.
  • Should be able to work in a team & must be deadline driven.
  • Able to deal with frequent changes and remain calm under pressure.
  • Should be able to analyze problems, determine root causes and provide solutions.
  • Ability to perform in rotation shift.
