Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Singapore seeks a skilled BIM Modeller to develop and maintain 3D BIM models for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems. The ideal candidate will perform clash detection and ensure compliance with project specifications, while also preparing shop and construction drawings. Strong experience with BIM software such as Revit and Navisworks is essential. This role requires close collaboration with engineers and site teams throughout the project lifecycle.

Job description

Job Scope: BIM Modeller (M&E)

1. Model Development & Coordination

• Develop and maintain accurate 3D BIM models for Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing (MEP/M&E) systems using software such as Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, or equivalent.

• Model M&E systems including HVAC, electrical power, lighting, fire protection, ELV, plumbing, and drainage in accordance with project requirements.

• Coordinate M&E models with architectural and structural models to ensure proper integration.

2. Clash Detection & Issue Resolution

• Perform clash detection between M&E, architectural, and structural elements.

• Identify, report, and resolve clashes through coordination meetings with consultants and contractors.

• Update models based on approved coordination outcomes.

3. Drawings & Documentation

• Prepare and update shop drawings, construction drawings, and as-built drawings based on BIM models.

• Ensure drawings comply with project specifications, codes, and standards.

• Extract schedules, quantities, and layouts from BIM models when required.

4. BIM Standards & Compliance

• Follow BIM execution plans (BEP), company BIM standards, and project requirements.

• Maintain proper naming conventions, worksets, levels of detail (LOD), and model cleanliness.

• Ensure models meet required LOD and information accuracy at each project stage.

5. Collaboration & Communication

• Work closely with BIM Coordinators, Engineers, Site Teams, and Consultants.

• Attend coordination meetings and provide technical input on M&E modelling matters.

• Respond to RFIs and design changes affecting M&E systems.

6. Model Updates & Change Management

• Update BIM models promptly in response to design changes, site conditions, and engineer instructions.

• Maintain version control and ensure timely submission of updated models and drawings.

7. Support Construction & Handover

• Provide BIM support during construction for installation sequencing and site coordination.

• Assist in preparation of as-built BIM models for project handover.

• Support asset information input if required (COBie or equivalent).
