Job summary

A public healthcare institute is looking for a Healthcare Assistant for a 6-month contract, which may convert to a permanent position. You will attend to patients' needs, assist in observing their condition, and handle administrative tasks. Candidates must be able to commit to rotating shifts and possess a Certificate in Health Care Assistant or equivalent. This role offers a competitive hourly rate of $13.

• Relevant experience in healthcare is preferred.

Job description

Summary:

• Public Healthcare Institute; West region
• 6-months contract (convertible to perm)
• Salary: $13/hour
• Working Days/ Hours: 5 days including weekends (8 hours), 3-rotating shifts

Responsibilities:

• Attend to patients’ care needs in their activities of living, such as personal hygiene, bathing, feeding, lifting, transportation and toileting
• Assists in observing and reporting patient’s condition and progress
• Assist with administrative duties such as data entry and filing of documents etc.
• Assist with mobility needs of patients as well as transfer and mobilise the patient as required
• Perform any other duties as and when assigned by the Assistant Director of Nursing, Registered Nurse, or Day Care Manager

Requirements:

• Able to commit to 3-rotating shifts
• Certificate in Health Care Assistant or equivalent
