AWS IoT Engineer

You are responsible for design and build secure AWS IoT solutions using MQTT, Python, and Node.js to connect devices, automate workflows, and support scalable cloud systems

  • Working Hours: Mon-Fri
  • Working Location: Central
  • Job Type: Contract
  • Salary Package: Up to $9800 (basic) + AWS
Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and deploy IoT solutions on AWS using services such as IoT Core, Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, and S3.
  • Build MQTT-based communication pipelines for device connectivity, messaging, and telemetry processing.
  • Develop backend services and APIs using Python and/or Node.js to support IoT workflows and device management.
  • Implement device provisioning, authentication, and secure communication (IAM, certificates, policies).
  • Develop data ingestion, processing, and analytics pipelines for sensor and device data.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize IoT solutions for performance, latency, and reliability.
  • Work with hardware, firmware, and cloud teams to ensure seamless end-to-end integration.
  • Support CI/CD automation, testing, and deployment using AWS DevOps tools.
  • Produce technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and operational guidelines.
Requirements
  • 2–5 years of experience in AWS cloud development or IoT-related engineering.
  • Strong hands‑on experience with AWS IoT Core and MQTT protocol.
  • Proficient in Python and/or Node.js for backend development and automation.
  • Experience with AWS services (Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS, SNS, CloudWatch, Cognito).
  • Understanding of IoT security (device identity, certificates, encryption).
  • Experience with REST APIs, WebSockets, JSON, and event‑driven architectures.
  • Familiar with Git, CI/CD, and container technologies (Docker is a plus).
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently.
Good‑to‑Have
  • Experience with edge computing (AWS Greengrass).
  • Knowledge of industrial IoT, sensors, or embedded systems.
  • Exposure to real‑time data processing, time‑series databases, or Kinesis.
  • Familiarity with Terraform or CloudFormation.
