By identifying industry needs, building capabilities, and fostering strategic collaborations, the pillar drives sectoral transformation and positions Singapore as a vibrant hub for responsible fashion.

About the role

The Manager, Professional Development will spearhead the design, curation, and execution of learning and development programs including industry forums, seminars, courses, and learning journeys that upskill fashion industry professionals and support the growth of the sector.

This role combines strategic program development, stakeholder engagement, and digital learning innovation to ensure the SFC’s professional development offerings remain relevant, impactful, and future-ready. There are opportunities to lead the development of accelerator-style initiatives that nurture talent, enterprises, and leadership pipelines within the fashion ecosystem

The role involves a combination of program planning, curriculum development, stakeholder engagement, research, coordination, communication, marketing, organisational and administrative tasks, and financial oversight to ensure the successful execution of training and industry-related initiatives. It is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and driven professional with business acumen who is interested in the fashion industry.

Key Responsibilities

Program Development & Implementation

  • Design, develop, and execute forward looking professional development programs based on identified industry competencies and upskilling needs.
  • Curate accelerator-style programs to support fashion enterprises, entrepreneurs, and creative professionals in scaling their capabilities.
  • Deliver hybrid learning solutions, integrating in-person workshops, digital modules, and networking opportunities.

Digital Learning Curation

  • Lead the development and management of digital learning resources on Learning Management Systems (LMS) and online platforms.
  • Identify and curate best-in-class digital content (internal and external) to ensure accessibility, engagement, and continuous learning.
  • Leverage technology to track program effectiveness, learner engagement, and outcomes.

Stakeholder Management

  • Collaborate with government agencies, educational institutions, and industry stakeholders to ensure programs remain relevant and forward-looking.
  • Build partnerships with training providers, subject matter experts, and enterprises to co-develop impactful content.
  • Engage members and industry professionals to understand evolving needs and skill gaps.

Project & Strategic Management

  • Manage multiple program portfolios/courses with clear timelines, budgets, and performance indicators.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, market scans, and skills-gap analyses to inform program design.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and iterate programs based on participant feedback and outcome measurement.

Accreditation & Standards

  • Drive the SFC’s efforts toward obtaining Accredited Training Organisation (ATO) status, ensuring compliance with SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) standards and aligning training frameworks to national accreditation requirements.

Go-to-Market & Business Development

  • Work with the Marketing and Membership teams to create go-to-market (GTM) strategies for courses and programs.
  • Oversee the promotion and positioning of courses to target audiences, driving visibility, enrolments, and industry impact.
  • Develop business development strategies to expand and scale learning initiatives and audiences and generate sustainable revenue streams.

Industry Insight & Content Development

  • Stay ahead of global and regional fashion industry trends, talent development needs, and innovation drivers.
  • Curate relevant speakers, trainers, and case studies to enrich program content.
  • Facilitate industry networking opportunities that foster collaboration and knowledge exchange.

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality learning experiences.
  • Provide guidance and direction to team members, consultants, and trainers engaged in program delivery.
  • Champion a culture of adaptability, innovation, and continuous learning within the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in education, Business, Fashion Management, or related field; Master’s degree is an advantage.
  • 7+ years of experience in learning and development, program management, or accelerator/incubator program design, ideally within creative, lifestyle, or fashion-related industries.
  • Strong background in digital learning curation and familiarity with LMS, online platforms, and emerging EdTech tools.
  • Proven track record in developing and executing competency-based training programs.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management experience, with ability to engage government bodies, educational institutions, enterprises, and industry professionals.
  • Demonstrated project management skills with success in handling multiple complex initiatives.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to translate data and feedback into actionable program improvements.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and non-verbal communication skills, with ability to engage diverse audiences.
  • Strategic thinker with business acumen to align learning programs to organizational and industry growth objectives.
  • Knowledge of the fashion industry, its market trends, and evolving talent needs is highly desirable.
  • Go-to-Market, Marketing & Business Development Acumen – ability to design GTM strategies, market courses effectively, and build revenue-generating learning initiatives.
  • Adaptable, innovative, and resourceful professional who thrives in a dynamic environment.
