Job summary

A leading electronics manufacturer in Singapore seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to oversee and enhance manufacturing processes. The role involves coordinating with production teams, ensuring adherence to specifications, and applying statistical methods for improvement. Ideal candidates will possess strong technical knowledge of PCBAs, CAD systems, and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct, and coordinate manufacturing processes.
  • Design manufacturing processes within budget and time.
  • Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods.
  • Analyze workforce utilization and design workspace layout.
  • Coordinate with customers for product specifications.
  • Estimate production times and staffing needs.
  • Confers with management on production capabilities.

Skills

Technical knowledge of PCBA and/or System box build
Ability to read 2D drawings and schematics

Job description
Manufacturing Engineer
  • Plans, directs, and coordinates manufacturing processes by providing technical support in the development, implementation and maintenance of manufacturing methods by performing the following duties.
  • Designs manufacturing processes within schedule and budgetary parameters.
  • Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods.
  • Analyzes and plans workforce utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
  • Confers with production group concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
  • Coordinates with customers to determine product specifications, bill of materials and design changes and responds to their request.
  • Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
  • Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
  • Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
  • Responsible for process-engineering capabilities focused on cost, quality and delivery improvements in order to support a manufacturing organization.
  • Implement and evaluate proposed designs and processes for manufacturability
  • Prepare justification, purchase and implement capital equipment for production
  • Conduct and support Validation activities on Manufacturing System/Equipment and/or process setup.
  • Oversee new process equipment production
  • Establish robust, repeatable and reproducible process parameters
  • Trouble shoot process related issues
  • Participate to activities pertaining to cycle time and process improvements.
  • Evaluate and select various engineered materials
  • Implement statistical process analysis on new and existing products
  • Implement safety, productivity and yield improvements.
  • Improve manufacturing techniques and through put.
  • Provide continuous development of manufacturing techniques that will improve in-house capabilities
  • Develop and maintain process documentation
  • Review processing methods
  • Interface with production of all activities associated with new process implementation and transfer
  • Assist in the development of training and provide training to production personnel during new technology transfer
  • Provide equipment maintenance and repair support as required.
  • Participates in cost improvement/reduction programs as part of LEAN
  • Contribute to the workplace safety and health improvement for the employees, as well as environmental protection, by adhering to the company’s Environmental, Health and Safety policies and procedures, and helping to achieve EHS objectives and targets through participation of EHS programs.
  • Participate and adhere to Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility (CSER) policy, programs and procedures.
Requirement
  • Technical knowledge of PCBA and / or System box build
  • Able to read and understand 2D drawings, schematics for components
  • English speaking - other languages desirable
  • PC Literate: Word, Excel, Power Point, AutoCAD etc.
  • CAD system basics
  • Good technical and commercial communication skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a customer oriented environment and work well with all internal functional areas, customers and suppliers.
