Location : Apex Harmony Lodge, Singapore

Type : Full-time, On-site

Reporting to : Head, Finance & Compliance and Operations

Citizenship : Open to Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents only

Apex Harmony Lodge (AHL) is Singapore's first and only purpose-built home for persons living with dementia. We are at a meaningful turning point : strengthening our culture, renewing our leadership, and reaffirming our identity as a person-centred, ability-centred care model. The Finance Department is a crucial department to ensure we account accurately for the various subventions and transparency in handling funds as an Institute of Public Character. We are seeking a meticulous individual with strong foundation of accounting and internal controls to join us.

As a key member of the Finance team, you will focus on the standard financial and management accounting activities, prepare reports for the respective authorities and facilitate the management of budget.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Operations & Reporting
  • Oversee monthly closing activities , prepare and post journal entries, and generate comprehensive financial statements (including balance sheets and income statements)
  • Conduct detailed variance analysis comparing actuals to budgets, and provide insights and explanations to management.
  • Manage bank reconciliations , payment processing, and accounts coding to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Assist with the annual budgeting process , including preparing templates, consolidating data, and aligning with department heads.
  • Contribute to forecasting to support financial planning.
Compliance & Audit
  • Prepare GST returns (if applicable), coordinate audit documentation, and support both internal and external audit processes.
  • Prepare reports for the relevant authorities including ILTC quarterly reporting, Medifund and FAS reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations , charity accounting standards, and internal policies.
Grants & Funding
  • Help with preparing grant submission documents , financial reports for donors, and any required follow-up or clarifications.
  • Monitor fund utilization , ensuring alignment with funding requirements and donor stipulations.
Team Collaboration & Administrative Support
  • Improve finance process for effectiveness, efficiency and internal controls, including system enhancements
  • Work cross-functionally with care, operations, and HR teams to streamline finance-related processes.
  • Guide, mentor, and review the work of junior finance staff (e.g., senior executives or officers)
  • Provide administrative support during committee meetings (e.g., Medifund Committee, Audit & Risk Committee), including minute-taking.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related discipline (or equivalent professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CIMA).
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant finance experience , ideally in healthcare, eldercare, or the non-profit sector
  • Familiarity with GST , budgeting, and financial reporting in a non-profit context preferred.
  • Experience in ILTC quarterly reporting, Medifund and FAS reporting preferred.
  • Analytical, systematic, and detail-oriented
  • Proficient in accounting systems and MS Office applications (MS Excel in particular).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities; team-oriented with high integrity and professionalism.
