Job Duties & Responsibilities
Fundraising Strategy and Execution

Within Healthcare Advancement Office, the Assistant Director (AD) will effectively manage key fundraising processes including identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding donors, including philanthropists, corporations and foundations, in order to support Healthcare Health’s philanthropic ambitions by fostering meaningful relationships and strategic partnerships.

He/she will report to the Director, Advancement Office. He/she will support the Director in managing and executing Healthcare Health’s fundraising strategy, contribute directly in securing philanthropic support, and work collaboratively with leadership, clinicians and colleagues. In this role, he/she will build and manage a portfolio of Intermediate and Major Gift donors to Healthcare, in order to deliver on individual and team fundraising targets. He/she will be responsible for facilitating all phases of the gift cycle, including initiating contact, cultivating and moving potential donors to solicitation and closure.

Programme and Campaign Management

He/she will also contribute to efforts in developing General Giving programmes both at HQ and in collaboration with institutions’ charity funds (including staff giving and needy patients’ initiatives), in partnership with Healthcare Fund team, the Advancement Office team as well as PHI charity fund teams

Stakeholder Management

Within this role, he/she will lead on creating Healthcare Health’s fundraising best practices / guidelines to be used with both internal and external stakeholders, and in setting up best practices for Healthcare Health’s fundraising operations at both Group Office and institutions’ charity funds.

Leadership

He/she will manage a team responsible for Healthcare Group’s gift processing (inc. gift tracking and reporting) and stewardship activities, as well as administration and event support, ensuring a timely and satisfactory reporting to donors and stakeholders. In this aspect, he/she will support to oversee the preparation of management reports, budgets, and planning documents for the Advancement Office function (when required).

He/she will also serve as liaison for the Advancement Office’s engagements with other HQ corporate departments (e.g. Planning, Finance, Human Resource, Corporate Communications). With the aim of developing a flourishing fundraising community of practice, he/she is expected to contribute to capacity building within Healthcare Health (when required).

Areas of Responsibility
  • Identify, cultivate, solicit and maintain key relations with a portfolio of contacts (current and prospective donors) with the view to match their giving interests with Healthcare Health’s funding priorities.
  • Lead and facilitate gift structuring to optimize donor’s gift purpose and manage the entire process from identifying a prospect, collaborating with proposal writer to prepare the proposal, and closing the gift.
  • Proactively identify, develop and deliver engagement opportunities to donors to ensure the maximization of their financial and non-financial support.
  • Develop fund-raising principles and policies for effective collection, distribution and management of funds raised.
  • Develop and implement systems and processes to ensure timely and accurate record‑keeping and reporting of fundraising activities.
  • Manage a small team of fundraising professionals responsible for supporting a comprehensive fundraising program that includes major giving, corporate partnerships, general giving and events.
  • Capacity Building, through on‑the‑job training as well as mentoring of fundraising colleagues at both HQ and charity funds
Key Requirements
  • A degree in any discipline, such as arts, business, marketing, or communications
  • At least 8 years of experience in fund raising with proven and tangible track record in the amount of funds raised
  • At least 8 years of experience in fundraising operations with proven and tangible track record in securing gifts above $100,000
  • Excellent project management capabilities and driving projects to completion
  • Have at least 3 years’ experience in managing a team of 2-3 persons with diverse experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with internal and external stakeholders and management
  • Healthcare or research fund raising experience will be an advantage
  • Proficiency in MS Office is essential
  • A self-starter with the ability to work in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment, and to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Impeccable professional integrity
