Job summary

A leading retail company in Singapore is seeking a finance professional to manage month-end closings and conduct financial analysis. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Accountancy (or equivalent), at least 5 years of experience, and proficiency in MS Excel and financial software. Key responsibilities include compliance with tax regulations, liaising with auditors, and driving efficiency in financial processes.

Job description

The essential responsibilities include:

• Manage the monthly, quarterly and year-end closing activities, including GL journal entries, and preparation of the relevant financial and management reports
• Conduct financial analysis of the performance of various business initiatives, provide analyses and commentaries on monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports
• Filing of statutory, business statistics and other types of returns as required by local tax and legal legislations
• Liaising with suppliers and external/internal auditors, coordinate with the tax agent on tax compliance, as well as ensure that all accounting activities comply with the group accounting policies and Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS)
• Assist in projects in driving efficiency through cost initiatives and projects which include process automation and documentation
• Understand business flow and financial procedures
• Assist the finance department in formulating and implementing internal controls
• Other ad-hoc assignments

Formal Education & Certification

• Degree holder in Accountancy or ACCA equivalent; preferably a qualified CA

Knowledge & Experience

• Minimum 5 years of strong experience preferably in retail environment
• Prior experience in audit
