Job Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented Accountant to manage daily financial operations, including reporting, accounts payable/receivable, and reconciliations. You will ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations while supporting the finance team. Job Responsibilities
1. Accounting
- Manage daily accounting operations to ensure accuracy in entries.
- Manage petty cash transactions and monitor office expense claims.
- Review and validate journal entries for various transactions, including fixed asset additions and depreciation.
- Ensure proper maintenance and organization of accounting records and filing systems for all financial documentation.
- Manage/oversee the accounts payable process by verifying invoices, reconciling vendor statements, and ensuring timely payments.
- Manage/oversee accounts receivable activities including invoicing, collections, and follow-ups on outstanding balances.
- Perform regular reconciliations of bank accounts and accounts payable/receivable ledgers to ensure accuracy and completeness if needed.
2. Financial Reporting and Analysis
- Maintain an accurate general ledger and ensure timely recording of financial transactions.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis across group and vessel entities.
3. Taxation and Regulatory Compliance
- Calculate, prepare, and file statutory tax returns (e.g., corporate income tax, GST) in compliance with regulatory deadlines.
- Liaise with external auditors to support the annual audit process and address any queries.
- Stay up-to-date of changes in tax laws and accounting standards to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Work closely with external parties such as bankers, auditors, and government agencies to facilitate financial transactions and reporting requirements.
- Support internal and external audit processes, particularly related to group and vessel accounting matters.
Job Requirement
- Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting or a related field (CPA designation a plus).
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a similar accounting role.
- Strong understanding of Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) (or equivalent).
- Proficient in accounting software. Familiar with sage will be a plus.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
