Job summary

DHL Global Forwarding in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, is looking for a Sr. OFR Operations Specialist to lead ocean freight operations within our global network. The role requires delivering OFR/CS plans, optimizing processes, and coordinating freight for internal and external customers.

With more than 6 years of experience, you will develop pricing strategies, manage documentation, build client relationships, and report on performance to leadership while supporting and guiding junior team members.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• 6+ years of experience in OFR/CS or freight operations.
• Experience in ocean freight and freight documentation.
• Ability to analyze data and prepare reports.

Responsibilities

• Implement OFR Ops/CS plans to provide ocean freight services.
• Coordinate freight allocation and reservations.
• Develop plans for ocean freight products (perishables, pharma, aviation).
• Build relationships with clients and maintain retention.
• Draft monthly management reports for leadership.
• Deliver day-to-day shipment documentation and support tenders.
• Seek opportunities to improve productivity and utilization.
• Provide guidance to junior team members.
• Create/confirm transport orders and bookings.
• Prepare Import/Export documents and update customs info.
• Resolve issues and optimize service quality in OFR Ops/CS.

In this Sr. OFR Operations Specialist position

• Implement OFR Ops/CS plans and processes to provide ocean freight services for internal and external customers
• Analyze and collate to provide requirements of freight control center, and to support and provide operations team with the required details, information and instructions for operational performance
• Coordinate freight administration in providing allocation and reservations of freight on planned line haul
• Contribute to develop and execute plans for ocean freight products in areas such as perishables, pharmaceutical, aviation, etc.
• Identify opportunities to expand business with new clients and continuously improve in-house customer services
• Build close business relationship with existing clients, conduct customer visits and maintain a desired level of customer retention
• Stay updated on account performances, draft and provide monthly reports to management
• Implement pricing strategy and respond to pricing enquiries in an efficient and competitive manner
• Deliver day-to-day shipment documentation for freight forwarding, assist in development of shipping tenders and ensure on-time submission on relevant documents
• Seek opportunities to enhance ocean freight productivity, and efficient resource allocation and utilization
• Analyze and provide input for processes and design systems to enhance service quality
• Resolve and analyze issues in day-to-day delivery and implement practices for OFR Ops/CS focusing on increasing effectiveness and efficiency
• Provide support on issues and problems from less experienced/ new team members, provide direction and guidance as needed

In area of OFR product:

• Create and/or confirm transport orders, perform and optimize bookings
• Prepare, control, and distribute all required Import/Export documents
• Identify performance issues of suppliers, and propose solutions to improve performance
• Update Customs shipment information and physical status, resolve customer issues and incidents
