Job summary

DHL Global Forwarding is seeking an AFR Operation Manager in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia to lead Air Freight operations and P&L for the area. You will drive growth, ensure service quality, and manage supplier relationships while leading a high-performing team.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience, with a focus on customer satisfaction, process improvement, and regulatory compliance in international freight.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience in AFR/logistics or related field.
• Proven ability to manage P&L and lead cross-functional teams.
• Experience with supplier relationships and customer visits.

Responsibilities

• Manage the department P&L within their specific area of control.
• Ensure growth in local markets in collaboration with field sales while driving customer satisfaction and retention through regular customer visits.
• 2nd or 1st escalation point for customer complaints and special requests, coordinating with internal teams toward resolution.
• Ensure service quality and operational excellence by monitoring customer feedback and improving performance using standard tools.
• Support teams to adhere to Global standard processes when executing shipments.
• Manage supplier relationships to optimize service delivery and profitability.
• Coordinate and develop a high-performing team and foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Lead the department and supervise in line with Air Freight strategic objectives.
• Ensure regulatory compliance for shipments and commodity locations.
• Achieve productivity targets and maintain accurate job management to maximize GP.
• Maintain business relationships with existing clients and identify upsell opportunities through regular visits.

In this AFR Operation Manager position

• Manage the department P&L within their specific area of control
• Ensure growth in local markets in collaboration with field sales while driving customer satisfaction and retention through regular customer visits.
• 2nd or 1st escalation point depending on local structure for customer complaints & special requests/ inquires and works with internal teams toward resolution.
• Ensure service quality, operational excellence by proactively monitoring customer feedback and improving operational performance, identify and implement process improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency by using the standardize performance tools of DGF.
• Support teams to adhere to the Global standard processes when executing shipments.
• Manages supplier relationships to optimize service delivery and profitability
• Coordinate and develop a high-performing team while fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement
• Leads the department and leads supervisors and specialists in line with Air Freight Strategic objectives.
• Ensure teams are adhering to the necessary regulatory compliance procedures relating to commodity and locations for shipments
• Ensure achievement of productivity targets and ensure accurate job management control to ensure GP maximization on every file
• Manage business relationship with existing clients, identify potential upsell opportunities, conduct regular customer visits and achieve a desired level of customer retention
• In area of Air product:
• Identify performance issues of suppliers, and propose solutions to improve performance
• Resolve customer issues and incidents
