Job summary
WSP in the Middle East is seeking an experienced HSE Engineer to join our Construction Supervision team in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will support the delivery of major transport, road, and infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with Saudi regulations and international best practices on site.
You will monitor contractor safety, conduct site inspections, review risk assessments and permits, lead toolbox talks, and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly safety reports,
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related discipline.
- NEBOSH IGC or equivalent safety qualification.
- Minimum 8–12 years of overall experience with 5+ years in Saudi Arabia.
- Experience with transportation, roads, highways, and infrastructure projects in KSA.
- Experience with consultants or construction supervision.
- Strong knowledge of Saudi HSE regulations and international standards.
- Excellent English communication and reporting skills.
Responsibilities
- Monitor contractor compliance with project HSE requirements.
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and safety observations.
- Review method statements, risk assessments, permits, and emergency procedures.
- Identify unsafe acts and implement corrective actions.
- Support the Resident Engineer in enforcing HSE requirements.
- Monitor excavation works, utility diversions, and lifting operations.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly safety reports.
- Participate in incident investigations and verify corrective measures.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to promote safety awareness.
- Ensure environmental compliance and waste management practices.
- Conduct toolbox talks and site inductions.
